ESBEN SEIR

Strength comes from vulnerability

Professional football player Esben saw his career collapse when a devastating ankle injury forced him off the field. After unsuccessful treatments, desperate for healing, he journeyed to the Hopi Indian people, where a medicine woman tended both body and spirit. There he learned a hidden lesson: the healing power of breath had been with him all along.

Years later, Esben plunged four metres during a parkour run, shattering his back in three places. Doctors warned he might never walk—certainly never climb—again. Yet he leaned on the very practice the Hopi had awakened in him. Through disciplined breathwork and training, he rebuilt his strength, and six months later he was back on the climbing wall.

CHILDHOOD AND YOUTH:

Esben grew up between Copenhagen and a Hopi reservation in Arizona, where his Danish parents were learning goldsmithing and organic farming.

He was first introduced to ancient breathing practices by the medicine woman called Carolyn Tawangyama, who promoted world peace and spiritual growth through Hopi prophecy worldwide.

Later in life, Esben returned to the U.S. and, as a helper, participated in his first Breathwork sessions in Joshua Tree Retreat Center in California.
